a dandelion day

"If dandelions were hard to grow, they would be most welcome on any lawn"

My favorite flower in the entire world is a dandelion. Yes, ok it's really just a weed, but still. Even when I was little, the thought of having a wish only a breath away enthralled me. Today, though I'm still tempted to make a wish, and infect my neighbors' lawns, I also like to watch a gentle breeze carry away a few seeds. The seeds wafting through the air, dancing though the breeze, and possibly swirling a few loop-de-loops is a sight I never tire of seeing. As summer nears, and I begin to see the balls of white puff popping up like the weeds they are, I begin to feel the temptation to blow wishes to my heart's content. Though if my neighbors catch me I'll probably get some flack for it, I'll most likely end up sneaking a few in. Hey, a girl's gotta live a little, right?

sorry!!

Hi, I know it's been FOREVER since I've last posted, but I'm going to have to let you down again by letting you know this isn't a regular post. This is just an update to let you know I'm still alive and well. My internet router completely died over the weekend and I only just got it repaired. I'm planning on continuing regular posts hopefully this weekend, so keep checking back!

xoxo,
Kay

PS Here's a picture of a puppy to make up for my lack of posts :)

and here's what you missed on GLEE

I have been waiting for Glee to return for what seems like forever. So, when this Tuesday came along, you can be certain I was sitting in front of my TV, shrieking every time a Glee promo came on. Of course I am in awe of Rachel's belting powers, and carried away every time Finn croons a number, but my favorite character is by far Emma Pillsburry. I find her neat-freak tendencies endearing, and her "bush baby eyes," as Sue calls them, adorable. This cardigan clad guidance counselor is by far the most fashionable teacher around. (Sorry Mr. Schu!) Her pussy bow shirts have had me scouring the Internet, desperate to find one, and her vast assortment of cardigans have only made me wish to add more to my ever growing collection.

Here are some things Miss Pillsburry herself would be seen wearing along with a few that she actually has worn:

This Alice + Olivia Bridgett blouse was actually seen on Emma in episode 12, Mattress when she takes her school photo

This J. Crew Jackie cardigan has been seen on Emma many times in a multitude of colors

Emma loves classic prints like hounds tooth, and the large bow only adds to the Emma-ness of this skirt

And what Emma Pillsbury outfit would be complete without a sweater clip??

So who is your favorite Glee character? What couples do you love? Did you see Sue's take on Madonna's Vogue? Do you even watch Glee, or am I just talking to myself? Comment back and let me know!

the head-bandits

If I ever met Blair Waldorf, we would definitely have a lot to talk about. Though our chitter-chat would consist of the latest scandals and Chuck Bass, I believe the bulk of our conversation would revolve around headbands. For those of you who don't watch Gossip Girl, Miss Waldorf is rarely seen without a headband perched upon her locks. Blair without a headband would be like Lady Gaga dressing normally or something.

Here are some headbands Blair and I could rave about while stylishly walking the streets of the UES:

This ban.do "b" headband is one I actually own, and it's amazing. And I'm sure Blair would love it too, considering her nickname is B.

I can totally picture Blair and I squealing over this headband, not only because it's totally in line with this season's nautical theme, but because it's by one of Blair's favorite designers, Jennifer Behr.

J. Crew is another shop that shares a spot on both mine and Blair's favorite store list. I happen to have this in a beautiful mustard yellow, and I could imagine Blair sporting this in a rich eggplant.

So how do you wear your hair, do you flaunt a decadent headband, or do you prefer to leave it up in a nonchalant ponytail? Comment and tell me how you like to wear your hair.

give me liberty or give me death!

The other day while wandering around Target, I stumbled upon the Liberty of London and Target collaboration. Yes, that Liberty of London and Target collaboration, whose ads had me practically salivating over the gorgeous floral prints that screamed spring. That Liberty of London and Target collaboration, which was half the reason I went to Target in the first place that day. That very same Liberty of London and Target collaboration which actually caused me to unconsciously let out a squeal of delight, which until then I didn't believe actually happened.

Though I walked out of the store with only two things from the coveted collection (a wallet and a piggy bank), if I had had the means, well, let's just say it might have taken a dump truck to take home my purchases. Here are some of the things that probably would have ended up in that dump truck, if I had the means, that is.

I searched high and low for this in hopes as using it as a jewelry holder. Alas, it was sold out, and the Target item locator show no locations near me that have it.

This is acutally the exact wallet that is currently in my purse, and I LOVE ITTTTTT

These rainboots would actually make my life complete

What I wouldn't do for a bike like this...

So have you gone to your local Target and scoped out this amazing line? If you have yet to, what would you want from it?

hey, hey chambray

Let me start out with saying chambray rocks. It has the boy-ish look that screams Agyness Deyn, yet can be dressed up for a less tomboy affect. On a recent trip to the mall with my friend, we both bought a pair of chambray shorts from Delia's. Delia's is my life saver. What did it save me from, you may ask, why the horrors of jeans shopping for a petite gal like me. Memories of trying on pair after pair of jeans everywhere from Bloomingdales to Forever 21, only to find them gap at the waist still haunt me to this day.

But I digress, and will say again, CHAMBRAY ROCKS. One of my favorite ways to wear chambray is with a floral tank top underneath in order to add a girly touch to it. Here are some of my favorite chambray pieces:

These are the exact pair of shorts my bestie and I bought at Delia's, which I plan on wearing with a pair of black tights until the cold weather lets up
I love this shirt especially because of the ditsy floral detail

Here's a more girly take on chambray

So what do you think of chambray, is this trend one you'll try out this spring, or is it one you'll leave to others?

moon river

Wowie, I haven't blogged in forever, sorry about that!

So anyways, you may, or (most likey) may not have known, but I idolize Aurdrey Hepburn. Not like, not admire, IDOLIZE. Now, my case of AHOS, or Audrey-Hepburn-Obessiveness-Syndrome wasn't always this bad. In fact, I had never seen one of her movies until a couple years ago. But the second I saw her in Breakfast at Tiffany's walking down the streets of New York, sipping a coffee and munching on a croissant, I was hooked.

Her timeless looks, her classy style, the calm, cool timbre of her voice! I was so overwhelmed by her perfect-ness, I actually had to pause the movie. From that moment on, I practically worshiped her. I wanted to look like her, I wanted to dress like her, but most of all, I wanted to act like her. She was classy, elegant, and just down right charming, which are basically my life aspirations in a nut shell. So here's a picture of my ultimate role-model, and sorry if this got a little rambley, it's just a side effect of AHOS.
